Since 1947!
Over sixty years ago, Cees Bakker started a vinegar-and mustard plant in Alkmaar. The daily production at that time ranged from 200 to 400 units per day. For greater numbers to come, he decided soon after taking over the firm in addition to soda syrups in them. This range expansion and the emergence of self-made business following investment. After the construction of the new state of the art vinegar brewery in Heerhugowaard was realized, it was decided to produce the bottles indoors as well. This allowed Burg to fill other liquid products (including edible oils) competitively as well.
Under the inspiring leadership of junior Bakker during recent decades, the company has undergone rapid growth. The informal, open nature of the family business was taking barely changed. The lines are still short and sober, realistic approach has remained intact. The 200-strong team operates from manufacturing sites in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and the Czech Republic and provides daily throughout western Europe hundreds of thousands of bottles.
All production sites are BRC and IFS certified.
